Microchip Search Service

There are currently 22 pet databases that are compliant with the Compulsory Microchipping Regulations. DEFRA states that it requires, as part of the legislation, that all compliant microchip databases provide a means to which database a microchip is registered to.

When a microchip is scanned, the number is checked against the PetScanner database and is also checked against all other databases. If the scanned microchip number is recognised amongst our database, the relevant information will be provided of the pet owner’s contact details. If the scanned microchip number is recognised to be registered with another database, the name of the registered database will be revealed and no other contact information regarding the owner, pet or database will be exposed.

In the scenario of a microchip being registered to more than one database, you will need to contact all other listed databases in order to find out which one has the most up to date information.

PetScanner complies with the following regulations to assure the best quality and service is provided to you.
